Three Essentials to Surviving Chaos

As the Coronavirus has become pandemic, spreading over our world, I’m going to share with you what I hope will be words of encouragement when the routines of our daily lives are being turned upside down.

I see three essentials to surviving chaos. And those essentials are faith, hope, and love. I’m going to quote words of wisdom in the four languages with which I am familiar: English (my mother tongue), French (my major study in college), Spanish (my minor study in college) and German (the language I’ve dabbled in on my own).

On television I heard French President Emmanuel Macron say, «Nous sommes en guerre.» Whether you agree with his politics and policies or not, I think he assessed our current world chaos correctly: We are at war. At war with Coronavirus.

After you have chosen which language(s) you want to read, would you consider: 1) copying the brief Bible quote on a card which you can put in a conspicuous place where you will see it often, 2) reading it from time to time and maybe saying it aloud as an added way to make it your point of encouragement throughout the coming week, 3) memorizing it and holding it not only in your brain but also in your heart.

These words are from a Christian perspective. However, if you are not a Christian, I hope what I have selected will still serve as a source of comfort for you.
