Hello everyone! As I gear up for the release of my upcoming children’s book, I wanted to share some valuable insights about the self-publishing journey that I’ve learned along the way. My first submission in 2019 brought a few surprises, including a detailed list of “fix-it” notes from Kindle Direct Press (KDP)—even when I thought we had followed all the specs! It turns out that small adjustments, like margins, bleed, and image sizing, can take a bit of time to perfect.
Now, I embrace this final back-and-forth in the process. Additionally, I’m discovering the importance of preparing marketing materials, from choosing the right categories and keywords to crafting compelling book descriptions. It’s a learning journey, but these details are well worth the effort because they make the book shine even brighter!
I’m excited to share that the manuscript has been submitted to KDP, and we’re getting closer to the finish line. Stay tuned for the big release date announcement soon!

Your books are wonderful, Connie! My great grandson is turning one today. Right now he can only handle the “wood” pages as he tends to try to eat the paper ones. But I am sure he will enjoy the Nonny series when he’s a little older! Best of luck!
