Some years back, a friend and I visited the Louisville Visitors Center where we met Colonel Harland Sanders whom it is fair to say is the King of Fried Chicken not only in Kentucky in the USA but all over the world. By the way, Colonel is an honorary title conferred by a Kentucky governor in recognition for Sanders’ outstanding contributions to the Commonwealth of Kentucky.

Quite a dapper looking fellow, wouldn’t you say? I just thought I’d have some fun today posting this photograph I happened to run across while I was recently sorting through some of my older pictures.

I need to be honest here. That handsome gentleman is a statue, but it certainly is a realistic one, isn’t it? White hair, white mustache, white goatee. Doubled breasted spotless white suit. Black ribbon bow tie. The image of the statue as well as the man himself are recognized as the brand ambassador for KFC. If you haven’t heard of Colonel Sanders, you surely have heard of KFC.
You probably are or have been a customer of KFC and dined on Colonel Sanders’ “finger-lickin’ good” fried chicken made from his secret recipe incorporating seven special herbs and spices and his other varied dishes served dine-in or carry-out. Bon Appetit!
Oops! I almost forgot to tell you about that paper doll dressed in a red vest that you see on the Colonel’s pocket. That splash of red is a Flat Stanley school project from either a Great Niece or a Great Nephew.
