Heavy Hearts Sustained by Hope

In times of conflict, disappointment, or even utter despair in our lives, is there a place where can we go to find Hope? Yes, there is.

Jesus, the Author of Hope, tells us in Holy Scripture, “Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me. My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am,” John 14:1-3, Holy Bible, NIV (New International Version)

Whether your English translation from Greek calls the place Jesus is talking about as having many “rooms,” “mansions,” or “dwelling places” it will be the most spectacular place you have ever lived! Especially so because you will be living in the presence of the Lord!

I, as a believer, have a heart filled with the hope of my Messiah’s return to the earth possibly in my lifetime! David Ben Gurion, the first Prime Minister of the modern nation of Israel, also had a heart filled with hope. He was anticipating a Messiah, too!

David Ben Gurion said, “Ezekiel 37 has been fulfilled, and the nation of Israel is hearing the footsteps of the Messiah.”

Ben Gurion was referring to the twentieth century nation of Israel formed on May 14, 1948, when Jewish people from around the globe were being physically reunited in the biblical lands of their patriarch Abraham. Part of the Tanakh prophecy that Ben Gurion was referring to says, “Behold, I will take the people of Israel from the nations among which they have gone, and will gather them from all around, and bring them to their own land. And I will make them one nation in the land, on the mountains of Israel,” Ezekiel 37:21-22 ESV (English Standard Version)

  • If you want to experience the Hope I have:
  • Read again John 14:1-3 and Ezekiel 37:21-22
  • Pray to God and ask for an understanding mind and heart
  • Thank God for revelation and direction
