TO MEND A HEART
Keeping pace in a crowded race
With plans laid out for my stride,
I saw off the path a wounded heart
And I almost passed it by.
Yet while others ran on, I walked alone
Not knowing what price I’d pay
For walking a road never taken before
But with love, I looked for a way . . .
To mend a heart,
Repair its tear,
Share its life,
Bring hope to despair.
With strength and faith
I’ll be prepared
To do my part
To mend a heart.

Thanks for “To mend a heart” poem. It is a reminder that in our busy lives we need to be alert to notice hurting hearts and stopping from our hurry to help mend them.

Of course the only way to mend someone’s heart is to point or remind them of Jesus, the true Mender of hearts. As you remind us, we need to interrupt our own plans to do so.

So true. It’s a good reminder to stop and help, especially when it’s not convenient. I have been the recipient of many helpers who stopped to help me in my life, not the least of which was you Mom.
