Keep On Reaching Out

Over the years I have had spectacular results growing plants in my front room window. Among them have been and continue to be pink and lavender flowering ones, luscious green-leaf ones, and various types of cacti. I attribute most of my good fortune to the direct sunlight that comes in that window. However, in summer I am careful to monitor the moistness of the soil on a daily basis and give extra water as needed.

Recently a container made of china holding various plants with a self-watering globe has produced such abundant foliage that green tendrils drape across the window shelf. See for yourself!

If a plant instinctively knows to reach out beyond its place of genesis, there might be a lesson for us as human beings: don’t be bound by where you are planted but rather reach out and spread your beauty and influence. Humble beginnings need not dictate how far we can go.
